Change drawing to reverse image
● Move to a Machining drawing
● Select: Edit - Mirror in X
or
● Select: Edit - Mirror in Y
In the following example an object is mirrored in the Y axis
After the operation:-
The drawing is reversed as a mirror image.
One way of working with mirror images is as follows:-
- Create part codes in the part library both doors
- Create the drawing for the LEFT door
- Load the RIGHT door
- Choose merge
This copies the LEFT door instructions to RIGHT door
- Choose Mirror
This puts the instructions in the correct orientation for the RIGHT door. After the mirror operation the program returns to the part drawing.
If the mirror cannot be done because the new instructions do not fit on the part in that orientation this is reported as an error and the mirror does not occur.
Notes
- Mirroring is only left to right mirroring (Not - top to bottom)
- Some machining centres have specific instructions for Mirror operations.
