Homag machining
Make sure to set the relevant machining centre parameters for a Homag. Refer to Homag manual for full details of each parameter.
To enter tool options for each instruction select the [+] button at the tool box and enter the value in the relevant box in the Tool dialog. The dialog changes depending on the type of instruction.
$ - list of Look-up values from the Look-up table. The table stores constants and text values so it is a convenient store for common machine settings such as speeds and offsets etc.
You can alternatively enter the older formula style of instruction directly in the Tool box and not use the tool dialog.
This section also includes other aspects of the MPR(X) file and explains where information is placed in the MPR(X) file from the optimising program.
There are many versions of the WoodWop system V2.5, V4.0, V5.0, V6.0, V7.0 and V8.0- they have a different setup and some instructions are differ between the versions.
WoodWop 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
Condition N is Non Mirror only, M is Mirror only
Path 0 = Centre, 1 = Left, 2 = Right
Set down mode 0 = Centre, 1 = End, 2 = Clearance added
Approach/wdrawal 0 = Tangential, 1 = Lateral, 2 = Vertical
Direction 0 = Forwards, 1 = Backwards
Single pods S = Use single pods
Spindle speed S=nn, (n=0 slow, n=1 fast)
Pre-scratch/Groove mode GL = Rotate with direction of travel, GGL = Rotate against
Automatic width 1 = Select groove width automatically
Step % 0-100%
WoodWop 2.5
Path 0 = Centre, 1 = Left, 2 = Right
Start mode 0 = Centre, 1 = End, 2 = Add Clearance, 3 = Calculate
Run mode GL = Rotate with direction of travel, GGL = Rotate against
Rout repeats - Rout repeats are not supported for WoodWop 4, 5, 6, 7 8. If a quantity has been defined in the repeat field, a general warning is shown once during the transfer. Repeats not allowed in routs (WW4,5,6,7,8)
Inches conversion - If you transfer to the Homag machining centre in millimetres and are working in V6.21 in fractional inches the conversion program ensures that the millimetre values in the MPR(X) file are rounded to two decimal places. This ensures that the Homag machining centre can accurately match tools to diameters on the drawing.
Part code and material - In the MPR(X) format file the part code and material code are in a comment line. For example: KR=BU05ME/L MFC18
Depth - If the Depth of field is left blank then @0 is written to the depth field for a WoodWop 4 > 8 MPR(X) file.
Rout width/tool WoodWop 2.5 - For routing lines, by entering FR= -n into the tool field you used to be able get the tool number (n) to WoodWop 2.5.For all routs, if FR= -n (where n is any number) is entered into the tool field this overrides any value entered in the width field when writing out to WoodWop 2.5 MPR files.
Repeated routs (groove routes and saw grooves) can be transferred in machining drawings to WoodWop 4, 5, 6, 7 8. They appear in WoodWop 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 as individual contours for groove routes and individual saw grooves.
Repeated Circle and Arc routs cannot be transferred to WoodWop 4, 5, 6 ,7, 8..
