Different materials for a part
Use this information box to specify alternative materials for a part.
In some situations it is useful to produce the same part from different materials. For example, hidden items like backs or dividers may be produced from 12, 15, or 18mm Chipboard. This requirement is set at the Part list using this information box.
At the part list - for each part involved enter one of the materials in the Material column and enter the other materials in this box, for example:-
CHIP15-MM PB* CHIP-12 |
- wild card characters are allowed:-
* match with any characters e.g. CH*BOARD > CHIPBOARD or CHPBOARD
? match a single character e.g. CH?BOARD > CHPBOARD
- material codes are separated by SPACE
- click on the select button in the field to select via the Material dialog
Where the material code(s) contain a space character the material code should be contained in double quotes. e.g. "MFC 15" CHIPBOARD "MDF 15"
